Metadata updates for Focus Bundles & eBooks Unlimited

We’re continuing to expand metadata support for our new Focus Bundles and eBooks Unlimited licensing options. eBooks Unlimited is a new annual subscription model that provides access to all books on Springer Nature Link, while Focus Bundles offer curated collections in specific subject areas.

Around 18,000 MARC records have already been updated to include Focus Bundle information, helping you manage and discover content more effectively. KBART title lists for Focus Bundles are now available, with 88 packages currently supported, including CRY 2025 and CRY 2026. They can be accessed via the KBART portal. KBART holdings reports will be available soon. Please contact your Licensing Manager for more information.

Help us improve the metadata you rely on

We know that metadata plays a critical role in library workflows, but our files may not always include all the fields you need. We're gathering feedback to better understand which metadata elements are most valuable and how you use them in your day-to-day work.

Your insights will help us prioritize improvements that make our metadata more useful, complete, and easier to work with.

AI disclosure now included in MARC records

To support transparency and help libraries identify AI-assisted content, we have introduced a standard AI disclosure statement in our MARC records. When generative AI has been used as part of the content creation process, a note will now appear in MARC field 500. This update provides a consistent way to identify AI involvement and supports metadata workflows that rely on clear content descriptions.
